John
L. McDermott
John is President and Founder of
McDermott & Associates. John has over 35 years
of assessment experience including 5 years as Area
Director of Property Tax for a “Big Four”
Firm, 10 years of experience as the Northeast Manager
for a national property tax consulting firm, and 10
years as Assessor for the City of Hartford, Connecticut.
John has served as instructor for over 60 courses
and workshops for the International Association of
Assessing Officers and also was selected as Sub Committee
Co-Chairman of the 1995 Property Tax Reform Commission,
including drafting of major revisions to Connecticut
General Statutes. John holds the Designation of Certified
Connecticut Municipal Assessor II.
Andrew J. DiSalvo
Andrew
is Director of Personal Property Tax Services with
McDermott & Associates specializing in multi-state
personal property tax and engagement management. Andrew
has over nine years of public accounting experience,
including 8 with a “Big Four” firm. He
has over seven years of property tax experience, including
real estate and personal property taxation. Andrew
also has significant large account management experience
including directing personal property tax engagements
for major retail, real estate development and diversified
multinational industrial accounts. Andrew is a recognized
subject matter expert on personal property tax, audit
defense; fixed asset verification and asset register
reconstruction. Andrew has performed over 30 multi
site reviews for technology and manufacturing companies
resulting in annual personal property tax savings
in excess of $3MM annually. Andrew is a Certified
Public Accountant and is a member of the AICPA. Andrew
earned a BS in Accounting from the University of Hartford,
Cum Laude.
Richard
K. Wandy
Rick
is a Consultant with McDermott & Associates. Rick
has over 30 years of assessment experience. Rick’s
experience includes 22 years as Personal Property
Assessor for the City of Hartford, Connecticut, two
years as a Property Tax Manager for a “Big Four”
firm and one year as the Assessor for the Town of
Simsbury, Connecticut. Rick has authored courses for
the International Association of Assessing Officers
and is a nationally recognized specialist on personal
property issues including providing expert witness
testimony in a number of landmark cases. Rick earned
a BS in Business from New York University.
Trudy McDermott
Trudy
is a Consultant with McDermott & Associates. Trudy
has over 25 years of experience in all aspects of
assessment practices. Trudy’s experience includes
over 20 years as Assessor for the Town of Columbia,
CT. Trudy holds the Designation of Certified Connecticut
Municipal Assessor II and is a Life Member of the
Connecticut Association of Assessing Officers.
